Slow Philosophy

NO RUSH, NO PAUSE

The slow movement is an alternative to the frantic pace of Western life, devoting to each patient the time they need to achieve professional excellence and a warm, human relationship.

DEDICATION IS THE KEY

We live in a world where speed and efficiency are seen as symbols of success. At first glance, this may seem positive, but the pressure to be efficient creates something far less positive: stress.

We don’t savor our food, we don’t take the time to appreciate well-made things, and we don’t appreciate music or art as we once did. In other words, we don’t enjoy the journey because we’re so focused on reaching our destination. This fast-paced lifestyle prevents us from being fully present and disconnects us from what truly matters—even from ourselves.

We don’t enjoy the journey because we’re so focused on reaching our destination.

THE 1980s · ITALY

Slow is a movement that calls for taking the time needed to create something of quality, enjoying the process and adapting to the planet’s natural rhythm. It began in the 1980s, in protest at the opening of a fast-food restaurant in a historic part of an Italian city.

This innovative approach was later adopted by many different groups and applied across various fields, becoming a whole philosophy of life that offers us an alternative to the unbridled Western pace — something we believe to be incompatible with health.

We want to take care of you.
